As we age, accumulated damage from UV radiation and other age-related stressors drain the skin’s pool of renewal cells or stem cells, and depletes them of collagen. They no longer divide normally leaving the skin thinner and more fragile.

A stem cell facial treatment is an advanced collagen induction therapy treatment that infuses a serum filled with stem cells, growth factors, peptides, antioxidants, anti-inflammatories, vitamins, and more. There is little to no downtime with this procedure.

What are the benefits of a Stem Cell facial?

Benefits of this transformational procedure include:

Teens have so many obstacles that can stand in their way when it comes to building self confidence. They are bombarded on social media with images of how they should dress, look, do their makeup, cut their hair – the list is endless.  In addition, they have peers that can either build them up with friendship and support or tear them down with just a look or a like.

Many of us at Skin Perfect are mothers to teens and know the struggles they face on a daily basis.  These struggles are only exemplified when they are struggling with acne. It’s hard for them to look in the mirror without being embarrassed or ashamed of their breakouts and it can take a toll on their self esteem.

Recently Jaclyn shared her tips and products for helping teens treat and help prevent acne with the team at Good Day Columbus. Facial treatments like our new Deep Cleanse Membership or our Acne Resolution can make big improvements in their skin. Combining the right at home care with regular skincare treatments can go a long way towards keeping our teens confident, happy, and with healthy glowing skin.

Jaclyn has compiled her favorite products to help with teen acne.  Here are her recommendations:

Hydrators

A pair of hydrators that won’t clog your teens pores or create an oily feeling on their skin. Packed full of hydrating ingredients to give their skin a healthy glow. Clarifying Moisturizer and Perfect Oil-Free Hydrator.

To kickstart the year (and your skin), Skin Perfect owner, Jaclyn Peresetsky, runs down her top 7 skincare resolutions.

  1. Never go to bed without washing your face.
This is allows your skin to breathe, sweat out toxins, allow the oils to secrete and rebalance your skin, and allow your skin cells to regenerate.
  2. Wear sunscreen every day.
You are still getting UV exposure even on cloudy days.  A physical sunscreen with zinc and titanium dioxide will reflect the sun’s light, not absorb it.
  3. Maintain a regularly schedule facial every month.
Minimally you should be getting a facial every month by a skincare professional in order to properly exfoliate, nourish, and turn on the rejuvenating cells and youth factors.
  4. Schedule a deeper chemical peel, microneedling, or advanced LED (light therapy) treatment every quarter.
Doing an advanced treatment will help to rev up your skin to see greater results.
  5. Integrate a new skin therapy regularly to challenge your skin.
Try a new therapy such as Microcurrent, Nano Current, LED, Cryotherapy, or Intensive FSD (Fractionated Light Therapy).
  6. Only wear makeup that is beneficial for your skin and not harmful or clogging.
Select makeup that is nutrient rich with ingredients that are going to nourish and improve your skin.
  7. Switch out at least one skincare product every three months.
Mixing up your skincare products will keep your skin constantly changing and challenged to continue to get positive results.

It’s time to get your skin ready for the holidays (yes – already!) and that means beginning a series of 3 or more peels to ramp up your skin to get the holiday glow we all strive for.  This month we are featuring our 3 most popular peels: The Smooth and Refine, The Replenix Perfect 10, and the Vitalize Peel and the all new Retinol Peel Accelerator to add to any peel. Read on for all the details.

THE SMOOTH AND REFINE PEEL

This peel brightens and smooths skin giving it a radiant glow. This peel can be used on all parts of the body to exfoliate and reveal new skin, reducing the appearance of acne scars, enlarged pores, and the depth of lines and wrinkles.

Time: 45 Minute Procedure
Price: $165 ($190 with Master Esthetician)

Members receive a discount of 25% on a Series of 3
(Non-Members receive a discount of 15%)

How does the procedure work?

The Smooth and Refine Peel is customized for each client to physically exfoliate and address specific skin concerns while renewing cellular functions that are dormant. Approximately 2 days after the application of the peel, the skin will go through a mild flaking process which will reveal velvety smooth skin. This advanced peel can be added on to any monthly membership treatment or done as a single treatment to achieve a quick and effective result.

Who benefits from this procedure?

Clients who are suffering from pigment changes and uneven skin tone and texture. This peel will cause mild physical flaking. We recommend that clients postpone social engagements until 2 weeks after the peel so that residual flaking is complete.

What to avoid

Three days prior to treatment we advise avoiding the use of retinols. Following treatment we recommend that clients do not apply any makeup or creams to skin for at least 4-6 hours after the procedure to prevent any possible contamination. Also, no exercising for 24 hours. As with all our procedures, we strongly recommend using the daily use of screen with an SPF of 30-50 depending on your skin tone. Any sunburn or an increase in sun exposure can cause advances in the aging process.

THE REPLENIX® MD PERFECT 10 PEEL

This peel contains a blend of ingredients that visibly reduce the signs of aging with every peel session. This peel addresses hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, fine lines, wrinkles, and weak capillaries. It works inside and out to encourage cell stimulation, support collagen production and strengthen the skin’s protective barrier.

It’s hard to be a teenager, let alone when you have acne or crazy, bushy eyebrows. One of our teen clients shared her day of beauty with us. Even though the school year will look much different this year, our teenager is ready for anything.

Dehydrated Skin

Dehydrated skin is a skin condition, meaning it is temporary and more easily treatable than dry skin. Often caused by external elements, such as weather or harsh soaps or detergents. Dehydrated skin is simply moisture-deficient skin with low, depleted water content. This skin condition has a loss of bodily fluids which can be a significant issue as our body depends on water for all cellular processes.

Dry Skin

Dry skin is typically a pre-determined skin function decided by your genes. Dry skin is caused by a lack of sebum and lipids, due to under active or smaller sebaceous glands. Less protective oil in the skin cells leave a tight, scaly and sensitive sensation for those with dry skin. It can also occur with mature clients with an under active thyroid, a hormonal imbalance, or dehydrated skin left untreated. All of these conditions inhibit the production of the natural essential oils that protect the skin.

Since water isn’t the problem in dry skin and instead lack of oil is the core issue, it can appear lackluster with no sheen or glow.
